 Inkheart (2009) DVDRip Verry Interesting

Inkheart (2009) | 693 MB

Watching Iain Softley's motley, jewel-toned adaptation of Inkheart, the best-selling 2003 young-adult novel by Cornelia Funke, I had the distinct sensation of being a young bookworm again, falling into a world as vividly real as it is impossible. In Funke's universe — given voice in a screenplay by fantasy-friendly playwright David Lindsay-Abaire—a literature lover named Mo (Brendan Fraser) possesses a dangerous talent for bringing characters from books to life when he reads aloud. The downside? When a fictional figure comes alive, a real person must disappear into the book's pages.

There is an old Romanian saying, ???There cannot be a wedding without fiddle players, just like there cannot be a lake without frogs.??™ Indeed, according to local folklore, weddings and fiddle music have gone hand in hand since the beginning of time??¦
The streets are muddy. Rush hour consists of two horse-drawn carts. The ???toilets??™ are outhouses, most meals are cooked outdoors over open fires and, if there is a wedding, the streets will be filled with music all weekend long. On first appearance, little has changed in rural Romania in centuries, but this isn??™t nineteenth-century Romania. The little wooden houses do not appear terribly stable, but now shoddy electrical wires dangle precariously between them, so virtually every family has a boom-box and a little TV to catch the latest American shows (subtitled in Romanian).
While the Western media likes to focus on the region??™s most famous former resident, Dracula, it is the opening scene of Borat (filmed in a Romanian Gypsy village) that truly captures life there. It is a bitter poverty that can be traced backto five centuries of slavery (slavery of the Roma was finally abolished in Romania in 1864). The fall of the former Soviet Union has seen a rise in discrimination in Romania, and throughout Eastern Europe. While the Roma have shaped the music from Rajasthan, India to Andalucia, Spain, Romania is home to the largest Gypsy population (approximately 2.5 million) and some of the richest Gypsy music. If you dig a little deeper, you??™ll see that, while the Roma??™s music is rooted in centuriesold traditions, it is always changing. This is especially visible in Bucharest??™s nightclubs, where local bands fuse hip-hop, jazz, rock and countless other styles with traditional Gypsy rhythms.
