BBC Natural World - Queen of Trees
BBC Natural World - Queen of Trees English | HD 720p | 1280x720 23.976fps x264 | AC3 - 384kbps - 48kHz | 1.87 GB Genre: Documentary
On a riverbank in Kenya, Africa, a seemingly ordinary giant fig tree and the tiny fig wasp differ in size a billion times over, but neither could exist without the other. Their extraordinary relationship is a marvel of co-evolution, a marriage which has lasted for millennia. It forms the basis of a complex web of dependency that supports entire ecosystems, providing food for thousands of creatures, from elephants, giraffes, and fruit bats, to forest hornbills, monkeys, insects, and fish. Each individual fig is a infinitesimal microcosm of life: a stage set for birth, sex and death, in which the tiny fig wasp players battle against predators and parasites to fulfill their mission, which is to pollinate a tree whose flowers bloom inside its fruit.

The Teaching Company | ISBN-10: N/A | English | MP3 (96kb/s) | 782 Mb Some 2,000 years ago, a man walked the earth who had a greater impact than any other person in history. Lowly born, he rose to prominence as he spread his vision of the redemption of the world. He attracted the attention of faithful disciples and suspicious local authorities. Eventually, he was tried, convicted, and executed. Today, his story is known the world over. And yet, more than two millennia later, great thinkers and everyday people still struggle to answer a single question: Who is Jesus?

The Teaching Company - Great Scientific Ideas That Changed the World [Video Training] | 6,2 GiBTaught by Steven L. Goldman | Lehigh University | Ph.D., Boston University | $374.95AVI | 128 kbps | 640 x 464 | 36 lectures, 30 minutes/lecture Why has science so dramatically altered how we live and how we think about ourselves? With characteristic energy and verve, Professor Steven L. Goldman declares, "One is tempted to speak of scientific discoveries as being the source of science's power to be a driver of social change??????that scientists have been discovering new truths about nature, and that the change follows from that. But I argue that it is scientific ideas that are responsible for this change. Ideas are the source of science's power??????not discoveries."
