Kaspersky recommends rebooting the machine and performing the scan in Safe Mode. Beware that the scanning process in Safe Mode is quite lenghty - it took this utility more than 5 hours to scan a partition with 12.8 GB data on it ! You might consider using Kaspersky 8.0.0.357 Rescue CD instead (updated 02/07/08), which scanned the same drive in little more than 32 minutes !
